It all begins with
an idea.

Shake the Sugar Tree all began back in 2014. I was still in school at Westervelt College. While doing some volunteer work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, I took some homemade caramels to a pot luck put on by the Medical Records department. I was volunteering in Privacy and Risk Management, and the lovely ladies invited our department for the pot luck. I decided to take my caramels in, and it all started there……..quite a few women wanted to order some for Christmas, so I took orders.

From there I decided to attend the weekly farmer’s market in Thorndale. Someone gave my caramels to the organizer of Art in the Barn, and my first major show started!! I did Art in the Barn until 2019. In 2020, Covid struck so all shows were on hold. I then sold my caramels on line.

Since then I’ve organized my own shows, two a year, called STSTT (Shake the Sugar Tree Tribe) Boutique Market Shows, at the Thorndale Community Centre in Thorndale, Ontario.

We have approximately 80 vendors per show, we do raffle draws, we invite the Grade 8 class from West Nissouri Public School to have a bake sale table to raise funds for their end of year trip and Graduation Party, we have live music, all fun for the day!!! I encourage you to come out and see us.
